Why are the lenses amber/red?
The amber and red lens are what allow LOCKT to block up to 99% of harmful blue light. Such high percentages of protection cannot be achieved by clear/transparent lens.
Do they actually help with eye strain and headaches?
Yes. They reduce glare and visual stress from screens in a way that clear lenses physically can't.
Most people feel their eyes relax within minutes of putting them on. We did, and it's one of the main reasons we kept wearing them.
Do they actually improve sleep?
Yes. Your screens emit blue light that suppresses melatonin, the hormone your body produces to fall asleep.
By blocking up to 99% of that light, LOCKT lets your body produce melatonin naturally, even while you're still on your screens.
Which lens should I get, amber or red?

Will the lenses distort colors?
Yes, both lenses have a noticeable tint.
With amber, everything takes on a warm tone but you can still tell most colors apart, and after 10-15 minutes your eyes adjust.
With red, the distortion is much stronger. Differentiating colors becomes difficult.
If your work requires precise color accuracy (graphic design, photo editing, color grading), we do not recommend the red lens.
I already have blue light glasses and they didn't do anything.
They were almost certainly clear lenses. Clear lenses block 10-30% of blue light at most. LOCKT blocks up to 99%. It's a completely different experience.

I've only had them for a little bit but I feel like I noticed a difference immediately. As someone who has never tried blue light glasses I was shocked at the difference in the lighting. I work during the day and study at night so having both the day and night glasses has been amazing.
The “orange lenses” is absolutely amazing for daytime. I have sensitive eyes so driving with them is a blessing. I use the red lenses to do computer work at night. Works great as well. Both are amazing and I utilize them more than I thought I would!
